7 Things To Do On Sunday For A More Productive Week

It is Monday, you are trying to drag yourself out of bed, running late to work, no lunch, and all stressed. You are tired and frustrated already, don’t you? I’ve been there so many times before.

I am the type of person that likes their weekends to be as relaxed and fun as possible. But, I’ve also learned and love to start my week organized, clear headed, and stress-free by taking a few hours planning my week in advance.

Here are my top 7 things to do on Sunday to make my week a lot easier and productive.

1. Make a To-Do list.

Start by writing down your top 3 main things for Monday and your plans and projects for the week so you can plan out your week around those things.

2. Check your calendar.

Take a couple of minutes to check your meetings and appointments, make sure you don’t forget any plan or need to cancel one. Schedule your plans and make time for you, do not leave anything for the last minute.

3. Plan and prepare meals.

There is nothing worse than arriving late and tired from work and having to figure out what to eat or to have to prepare the next day’s lunch.

On Sundays, I usually write a meal plan (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) and go for groceries.

I like to cook a bunch of meals at once and freeze them but you can simply make a list of what you intend to eat during the week and go for groceries if needed. This way you can also avoid stopping at the store for milk and leaving with a whole pantry just because you were hungry.

I found out that I spend a lot less on groceries since I plan my meals.

4. Tidy up.

You don’t need to clean your whole house, I like to lay and do nothing, it’s Sunday, but take 15 minutes to wipe the kitchen counter and organize it a little bit, you won’t regret it the next day.

I tend to have a better week when I don’t have a lot of chores to do on Monday evening after a long day of work.

5. Organize your purse.

Get rid of old receipts, put the loose change in your piggy bank, remove all you don’t really need for the week. You don’t need to rush yourself on Monday morning doing this.

6. Relax.

Set some self-time. Get brunch with a friend, read a book, take a bath, watch a movie. Allow yourself to start fresh.

7. Go to bed early.

This is the most difficult part, but set your alarms and go to bed early. Waking up on Monday grumpy and tired is the worst way to start the week.

Don’t be overwhelmed, change your routine with one or two things to be more productive during the week.

A little bit can make a lot.
