Baby’s gender

“Do you know if it’s a boy or a girl?”

“What do you want?”

“For sure you’d want the girl now”

“Oh, I hope it’s a girl! So you’d have the couple”

I truly think a that hormones are making a huge impact here, but all I want to say is: “I just hope is not a boot or an alien!!!, would you imagine?”

Apparently, having one of each gender is the main goal, and if you have two of the same you MUST try to get the one “missing”.

However!!! If you ever decide to have more, then you are crazy. “What for?”, “two is enough”, it is absurd to have and want more kids, you have the “collection” already.

I do want to know the gender of the baby, but not because I prefer one or the other. Boy or girl I’ll love them with all my heart. I’m just excited to pick their name, buy them clothes and get ready for their arrival.

Anyway, we finally found out, and it turns out that a baby girl will join our us in about 20 weeks. We don’t know if she’ll be the last one, but we are definitely thrilled that it’s not a soccer ball.

Now the comments change to:

  • You can be happy now, you have one of each. (What makes you think I wasn’t happy already?)
  • Oh, it’s so great you’re having a girl now. Imagine another boy. (WT*?)
  • It’s great you’re having a girl, now you can get over with. (Again, WT*?)

Having a baby is a miracle, whether that’s a boy or a girl. Going to the doctor, passing the 20th week and finding that all is well is a miracle!

What about you? Do you have the collection? How many times have you been asked/told something like this?
